Business van leasing in London

Yes. FleetMe leases vans to London businesses on business contract hire with a fixed monthly rental over an agreed term and mileage. ULEZ covers every borough, so we quote vehicles that meet the standard, and your agreement is with FleetMe.

London is the most expensive place in the country to run a non-compliant van and one of the easiest to run a compliant one. Construction and fit-out, facilities management, last-mile delivery and the whole mobile trade economy keep hundreds of thousands of light commercial vehicles moving, and the charging regime here has more moving parts than anywhere else: ULEZ across every borough, a separate Low Emission Zone for heavier vehicles, and the Congestion Charge on top in the centre.

What does London van work demand from a vehicle?

Fit-out and building services contractors want a medium van that is compliant, secure and small enough to park on a working street. Last-mile and courier operators want load volume and quick side access. Mobile trades want racking and payload headroom for tools and stock. Vehicle security is a bigger factor in London than almost anywhere else, so it is worth specifying additional locking and alarm options at order rather than retrofitting later.

How do ULEZ, the LEZ and the Congestion Charge apply to your van?

These are three separate schemes and they stack. ULEZ applies across all London boroughs to cars and vans; the Low Emission Zone covers heavier vehicles over 3.5 tonnes instead; and the Congestion Charge applies on top inside the central zone during charging hours. A non-compliant van working central London can therefore attract two charges on the same day. A compliant van removes the ULEZ element entirely for the life of the agreement.

Do electric vans add up in London?

London is the one place where an electric van often makes the numbers work on its own terms: predictable urban rounds, depot charging, and no ULEZ exposure. It is not automatic, and range against a real route with a full load is what decides it, so we will look at your rounds before recommending one. Rentals are shown excluding VAT first with the VAT-inclusive figure alongside, and maintenance can be included in the monthly figure.

Clean air and emissions in London

London operates the Ultra Low Emission Zone across all London boroughs, though not the M25 itself, 24 hours a day every day of the year except Christmas Day. The daily charge is £12.50 for non-compliant cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes; heavier vehicles over 3.5 tonnes fall under the separate Low Emission Zone instead (Transport for London, 2026). Compliance generally means Euro 6 for diesel and Euro 4 for petrol (GOV.UK, 2026). The central London Congestion Charge is separate and additional, currently £18 a day if paid on the day or in advance, or £21 if paid by midnight on the third day after travel, operating 07:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday and 12:00 to 18:00 at weekends and on bank holidays, with no charge between Christmas Day and the New Year bank holiday (Transport for London, 2026). Check current rates and any registration with TfL before relying on this.

Leasing a van in London: your questions

How much is ULEZ for a van?

£12.50 a day for a non-compliant van up to 3.5 tonnes, anywhere in Greater London, every day except Christmas Day (Transport for London, 2026). A compliant van, generally Euro 6 diesel or Euro 4 petrol, pays nothing.

Is the Congestion Charge the same thing as ULEZ?

No, they are separate and can both apply on the same day. ULEZ is emissions-based and covers all boroughs; the Congestion Charge is £18 a day paid on the day or in advance, in central London during charging hours (Transport for London, 2026).

Will a van you supply be ULEZ compliant?

Tell us the vehicle works in London and we will only quote vehicles meeting the ULEZ standard. You can confirm any individual registration with TfL once the vehicle is allocated.

Do you deliver into central London?

Yes. We have no depots or showrooms, so we deliver to your business address. Tell us about access restrictions at the delivery point when you order so the delivery is planned around them.
