Business van leasing
Business van leasing, priced and confirmed by us
Business van leasing is business contract hire: your company pays an initial rental and then a fixed monthly rental to use a van for an agreed term and mileage, and hands it back at the end. FleetMe owns the van and carries what it is worth at the end, so your cost is known from day one. The agreement is between your business and us.

Who business contract hire is for
Business contract hire is for UK limited companies and LLPs. Your company is the hirer, the contract is business-to-business, and terms run 24 to 60 months.
If you trade as a sole trader, or you want the vehicle in your own name rather than a company's, this is not the product for you — an agreement with an individual works differently and we offer a short-term rental of up to 89 days instead. Say so when you enquire and we will set out what applies to your situation before anything is agreed. There is more detail on the sole trader page.
There is a second route, and it is worth knowing about: incorporating is what opens up business contract hire over 24 to 60 months, and a company with no filed accounts is still considered. If that is the direction you were heading anyway, read leasing as a new limited company before you decide.
How the monthly rental is built
Four inputs decide the figure. Change any one of them and the monthly moves, which is why a quote means very little until all four are pinned down.
- 1
The vehicle and its specification
Body, wheelbase, roof height, payload and anything fitted — racking, ply lining, a tow bar, livery. Agreed up front so it is in the contract, not bolted on afterwards.
- 2
The term
Typically 24, 36, 48 or 60 months. Longer terms usually lower the monthly figure; shorter terms cost more per month but commit you for less time.
- 3
The annual mileage
The single biggest driver of the rental after the vehicle itself. Quote the mileage you actually do — a low band flatters the monthly and moves the cost to the excess-mileage bill at the end.
- 4
The initial rental
Quoted as a profile such as 6+35 or 9+35 — six or nine rentals up front, then 35 monthly. A bigger initial rental lowers the monthly but ties up more cash on day one.
Why the numbers work better through the business
Every rental on this site is quoted excluding VAT first, because that is how a VAT-registered business budgets, with the VAT-inclusive figure shown alongside it. Two things then follow.
VAT on a van
A VAT-registered business can normally reclaim 100% of the VAT on rentals for a commercial vehicle used for business. On a car, HMRC blocks 50% of the VAT on the rental.
The rental as a cost
Lease rentals are a revenue expense, so they reduce taxable profit as you pay them. The 15% disallowance that applies to higher-emitting cars does not apply to vans at all.
We are not accountants and this is not tax advice — your own accountant should confirm how it applies to your business. The detail, with sources, is in our VAT on van leasing and is van leasing tax deductible guides.
What is in the rental, and what is not
Included
- The vehicle, on a fixed monthly rental. One known figure for the whole term, so the most variable line in the budget stops moving.
- Vehicle excise duty for the contract. Road tax is covered for the duration, not billed to you separately each year.
- The manufacturer's warranty. For as long as it runs, on the terms the manufacturer sets.
- Delivery to your business address. We have no depots or showrooms, so nobody loses half a day collecting a van.
Not included
- Insurance, fuel and AdBlue. Yours to arrange and pay for, exactly as with a van you own.
- Maintenance, unless you add it. Servicing, tyres and wear items can go inside the monthly figure — priced separately so you can see the cost.
- Tolls and clean-air charges. Congestion, CAZ and ULEZ charges follow the vehicle and the route, not the agreement.
- Damage beyond fair wear and tear. Assessed against the BVRLA standard at the end of the term. Normal working wear is not chargeable.

Guide prices only — indicative, not quotes or offers, last reviewed 2026-09-01. They assume a 48-month term, 10,000 miles a year, 6 rentals up front and no maintenance, and they move with the specification, term, mileage and the assessment of your business. We confirm your actual rental in writing before you commit.
Will your business be accepted?
We work best with good and fair credit profiles. New limited companies with no trading history are genuinely considered — commercial underwriting looks at the business, not just years of accounts. Adverse credit is reviewed case by case and we will always tell you honestly if we cannot help.
Get your business van quote
Tell us the van, the term and the annual mileage you need. We come back with a written quote — usually the same working day — and we will tell you honestly if we cannot help.
Thanks — your enquiry is in.
We’ll go through what you need and come back with a written quote, usually the same working day. Your agreement would be with FleetMe — we supply the vehicle, and we confirm it in writing before anything is agreed.
What happens next
- 1 We read what you sent us. We check the vehicle, the length and the mileage you asked for, and work out what we can do at that specification.
- 2 We come back with a written quote. Usually the same working day. It sets out the vehicle, how long you have it, the mileage, the initial rental and the monthly figure — ex VAT with the VAT-inclusive figure alongside.
- 3 You decide. Nothing is committed until you have that in writing and you are happy to go ahead. If we can’t help, we’ll tell you honestly and say why.
Nothing is committed at this stage, and if we can’t help we’ll tell you honestly rather than leave you waiting.

Business van leasing: common questions
Who can take business contract hire?
UK limited companies and LLPs. The agreement is a business-to-business contract between your company and FleetMe. If you trade as a sole trader or want the vehicle in your own name, the product is different — tell us when you enquire and we will explain what applies before anything is agreed.
Can a new limited company lease a van?
Often yes. No filed accounts are needed — a UK company's first accounts are not due for months after incorporation, so having none is a timetable rather than a warning sign. Underwriting weighs the company, its directors and whether the rental is affordable. We will tell you honestly if we cannot help.
Can I reclaim the VAT on a business van lease?
A VAT-registered business can normally reclaim 100% of the VAT on rentals for a commercial vehicle used for business — better than a car, where HMRC blocks 50% of the VAT on the rental. Your accountant should confirm your own position.
What terms are available?
Business contract hire normally runs 24 to 60 months, with an annual mileage agreed at the start. We quote the term and mileage you ask for and confirm both in writing before you commit.
Who is the agreement with?
FleetMe. We are the lessor — we supply the vehicle, we own it throughout, and the hire agreement is between your business and us. We confirm the vehicle, term, mileage and monthly rental in writing before anything is signed.
What happens at the end of the term?
We arrange collection. The van is inspected against the BVRLA fair wear and tear standard for light commercial vehicles, and the mileage is recorded — anything over your contracted total is charged at the excess rate written into your agreement at the start. You can order a replacement to arrive as the outgoing van leaves.
