You lease the vehicle from us, and the hire agreement is between your business and FleetMe. We price the vehicle, we confirm the figure in writing, and we are the company you deal with for the life of the agreement.

We are new. Here is what that means for you.
FleetMe is a new business. We could dress that up, and plenty of sites do — but a fleet decision costs real money and you deserve to know who you are dealing with. So: no customer numbers, no star ratings, no logos of companies we have not worked with. What we can offer from the first enquiry is a clear written quote, an honest answer on whether the deal works, and no pressure in either direction.
What is not new is the product. Business contract hire is a well-established way for UK companies to run vehicles: a fixed monthly rental over an agreed term and mileage, with the vehicle handed back at the end so the business never has to worry what it is worth second-hand.
How the money works
Your business pays a monthly rental for the use of the vehicle over an agreed term and annual mileage. That is how FleetMe earns — there is no separate fee for talking to us and nothing to pay to get a quote. Every price shown on this site is a guide price, not a quote: the real figure depends on the exact vehicle and specification, the term, the mileage and your business's credit profile, and we put it in writing before anything is agreed.
If your business is VAT-registered, the VAT on van rentals is normally recoverable in full where the van is used for business. Cars are treated differently and recovery is usually restricted. Your accountant can confirm how that applies to you.
How a decision actually works
We work best with good and fair credit profiles. New limited companies with no trading history are genuinely considered — commercial underwriting looks at the business, not just years of accounts. Adverse credit is reviewed case by case and we will always tell you honestly if we cannot help.
In practice that means a credit assessment of the business, and usually of its directors, as a normal part of the process. We aim to come back with a decision in principle the same working day in most cases, once we know the basics about the business and the vehicle you want.
Three steps, no jargon
- 1 Tell us what the job needs. Body type, payload, the term and the annual mileage. About a minute, and no documents at this stage.
- 2 We price it and put it in writing. The vehicle, the monthly rental, the initial rental, the term and the mileage — set out clearly so you can compare it with anything else on your desk.
- 3 We order it and agree a delivery date. We handle the order and the paperwork and agree a delivery date with you before anything is signed.
What we will do
- Tell you what the vehicle costs per month, ex VAT, in writing.
- Say plainly whether we can help — including when the answer is no.
- Set out the term, the annual mileage and the initial rental before you sign anything.
- Explain what happens at the end of the agreement, and what excess mileage or damage would cost.
- Consider a new limited company on the business, its directors and affordability.
What we will not do
- Promise an approval before an assessment has been done.
- Quote a monthly figure we cannot stand behind once the vehicle is specified.
- Chase you with pressure tactics, countdowns or manufactured deadlines.
- Pretend to be older, bigger or busier than we are.

Is FleetMe the leasing company, or does it pass my enquiry to someone else?
FleetMe is the leasing company. You lease the vehicle from us and the hire agreement is between your business and FleetMe. We price the vehicle, we confirm the figure in writing, and we are the company you deal with for the life of the agreement.
How long has FleetMe been trading?
FleetMe is a new company, and we would rather say so plainly than imply a history we do not have. What you can judge us on from day one is how we handle the enquiry: a clear written quote, an honest answer on whether we can help, and no pressure either way.
Who owns the vehicle?
Not your business — that is the point of contract hire. You hire the vehicle for an agreed term and mileage and hand it back at the end, so you never carry the risk of what it is worth second-hand.
How does FleetMe make money?
From the rentals your business pays under the hire agreement. The monthly rental covers the use of the vehicle over the term you have agreed. Anything outside that monthly figure — excess mileage, or damage beyond fair wear and tear when the vehicle goes back — is set out in your quote and agreement before you sign.
Does FleetMe run a credit check?
Yes. Business contract hire involves a credit assessment of the business, and usually of its directors as well. We work best with good and fair credit profiles. What kind of businesses does FleetMe work with?
UK limited companies and LLPs take business contract hire, from a single van up to a small fleet, over an agreed term of 24 to 60 months. Sole traders and personal customers are not turned away — the product is different: short-term vehicle rental, up to a maximum of 89 days. If you are a sole trader thinking about a longer commitment, incorporating is what opens contract hire up, and we will explain that rather than leave you guessing. We work with businesses across England and Wales.
What do you need from me to give a quote?
For a guide figure: the vehicle or the job it has to do, the contract term and annual mileage you want, and your company name or number. To turn that into a firm quote and a decision we will need company and director details, and bank details for the direct debit.
How quickly will I hear back?
We aim to give a decision in principle the same working day in most cases, once we have the basics about the business and the vehicle. If we cannot help, we will say so rather than leave you waiting.
