Time-critical, mostly business

DHL van leasing

A delivery company that is a limited company or LLP leases a van from FleetMe on business contract hire over terms up to 12 months. On time-critical express work the expensive thing is a vehicle off the road, and that changes what a sensible agreement looks like. Individuals and sole traders take hire of up to 12 months. FleetMe is not connected to DHL.

Is FleetMe part of DHL?
FleetMe is a vehicle leasing company. We are not connected to, endorsed by or a supplier to DHL, and we do not speak for them. Their vehicle requirements, rates and contract terms are theirs to set, so check those with DHL directly.

Express work is judged on whether the delivery landed inside its window. That makes vehicle downtime the cost that actually hurts, and it is the one most leasing conversations never reach, because they are conducted entirely in terms of the monthly figure.

Downtime costs more than the monthly rate

On time-critical work a van in a workshop is not an inconvenience, it is a day of missed commitments and an awkward phone call. That changes the maths on two decisions people usually treat as optional. A maintenance package turns servicing, tyres and repairs into a fixed monthly cost and moves the scheduling to us. Keeping the vehicle inside its manufacturer warranty, which usually means a shorter term, avoids the age at which small faults start arriving in groups. Both cost more per month, and both can cost less per year.

Business addresses change the vehicle

Express work leans towards commercial destinations, and those come with constraints residential rounds do not have: multi-storey and yard height barriers, security gates, booking-in windows, and sites that expect a vehicle of a particular size. A tall van that cannot clear a client's barrier is the wrong van however good the load space is. Tell us which sites you have to reach and any height limits you already know about, and it goes into the recommendation rather than being discovered in week one.

When the contract is shorter than the lease

Courier and express contracts are often reviewed annually while a lease runs for years, so signing the longest term because the monthly figure looks better is a real risk rather than a theoretical one. Ask what ending the agreement early would cost at each stage, and keep the answer with your contract paperwork. A twelve or twenty-four month agreement you complete is usually cheaper than a longer one you exit, and the shorter term is available at the start rather than negotiated under pressure later.

What underwriting looks at

A lease of up to 12 months is a longer commitment than a short-term hire, and underwriting looks at the business, its directors and whether the monthly rental is comfortably affordable, not at the round you have been offered. A courier company with a clean payment record behind it gets the most straightforward answer. None of that is a promise of approval, and we will tell you quickly if we cannot help.

The vans we supply for this work

Small, medium and large. Which one fits depends on the round (drop density, parcel size and where you are loading) and that is a conversation, not a filter. Every figure is read from our rate sheet.

Prices are guide figures ex VAT, pictures are illustrations, and nothing here is stock standing on a forecourt. What that means →

How to read these listings

Prices: Monthly rentals shown are guide prices and exclude VAT unless labelled otherwise. They are indicative “from” figures quoted against a 12-month term at the mileage allowance shown for the vehicle, and they move with the exact variant, the mileage, the initial rental and the outcome of underwriting. Last reviewed 1 September 2026. We confirm your actual monthly rental, and what it includes, in writing before anything is agreed.

Images: Vehicle images are computer-generated illustrations of a representative example, not photographs of the vehicle supplied. Exact trim, colour, body length, roof height and equipment vary by specification.

Availability: Listings show the vehicles we can supply, not stock held on site. Specific variants, trim levels, body conversions and delivery dates depend on factory lead times and availability at the time you order, and some vehicles are build-to-order. Nothing is reserved for your business until we confirm it in writing. If we cannot get the exact vehicle you have asked for, we will tell you and set out the closest alternative we can. Delivery is to business addresses in England and Wales, and we confirm the arrangements, the timing and any delivery cost on your quote.

Delivering as a self-employed driver?

You are covered. We supply sole traders too, over terms up to 12 months. You do not need to incorporate first and you do not need filed accounts.

Worth checking before you enquire: the allowance is 2,000 miles a month. Multi-drop rounds often run well past that, and mileage over the allowance is charged, so tell us your weekly mileage and we will be straight with you about whether it works.

What does the round need?

Vehicle type
Can you supply any make or model?

The vehicles on our stock list are the ones we hold a rate for, so they are the quickest to quote. Anything else we source to order, which takes longer and is priced individually, so ask and we will tell you what it costs. Every figure on this site is a guide price: availability and factory lead times move, and we confirm the exact vehicle, term, mileage and monthly rental in writing before anything is agreed. If we cannot get what you have asked for, we will say so.

Common questions

Is FleetMe connected to DHL?

No. We are not connected to, endorsed by or a supplier to DHL. We lease vans to delivery companies whoever they carry for, and anything about their requirements or approved vehicles is for them to confirm with you.

Should I take the maintenance package?

On time-critical work it usually earns its place, because it fixes the cost and moves the scheduling to us. We price it as its own line on the quote so you can see the figure and decide, rather than being sold it.

What happens if my contract ends before the lease does?

The lease continues. That is why we tell you at quote stage what early termination costs at month 12, 24 and 36, and why a shorter term is often the better answer on contract-dependent work even though it costs more each month.

Can I lease as a self-employed courier?

No. Business contract hire is for limited companies and LLPs. As an individual or sole trader what we can supply is vehicle hire of up to 12 months.
