Dense rounds, high drop counts

Evri van leasing

A courier business that is a limited company or LLP leases a van from FleetMe on business contract hire over terms up to 12 months, with the annual mileage set to what the round actually covers. A self-employed courier takes vehicle hire of up to 12 months instead. FleetMe is not connected to Evri.

Is FleetMe part of Evri?
FleetMe is a vehicle leasing company. We are not connected to, endorsed by or a supplier to Evri, and we do not speak for them. Their vehicle requirements, rates and contract terms are theirs to set, so check those with Evri directly.

Parcel rounds of this kind are defined by the number of stops, not the distance. A driver can finish the day with a modest odometer reading and a great deal of wear, because the vehicle has been started, stopped, loaded and unloaded a few hundred times. That pattern should shape the agreement, and a standard quote rarely accounts for it.

What a high drop count does to a lease

Two courier businesses can cover identical annual mileage and hand their vans back in completely different condition. A dense residential round is stop and start all day: the transmission, the brakes, the tyres and above all the side and rear door mechanisms take a beating a motorway van never sees. Mileage is still the figure the agreement is priced on, so declare it honestly. But when you are choosing the term and whether to include maintenance, the drop count deserves as much weight as the distance. A shorter agreement on a hard-worked van often costs less in total than a long one that ends in a condition charge.

Van class for small parcels at volume

Work made up of small and medium parcels rarely fills a large van by weight, and a bigger vehicle bought "just in case" costs you in fuel, in manoeuvrability and in the parking that dense rounds demand. A medium panel van is the usual answer, and the real decision is internal height and how fast you can put your hand on a parcel, rather than raw cubic metres. Shelving changes that more than a longer wheelbase does. Any racking needs agreeing with us in writing before it is fitted, because it is an alteration to a vehicle you are hiring and it has to come out at the end.

Setting the mileage when the round can be redrawn

Rounds change. If the agreement is priced on a figure that stops being true in month four, you either carry an excess-mileage charge to the end of the term or you renegotiate mid-contract. Neither is comfortable. Round up to a realistic ceiling rather than an average, tell us if the work is seasonal, and say plainly if you expect to add a second round. Two matched vans on matched renewal dates is a different quote to one van renewed ad hoc. We confirm the term, the mileage and the excess rate in writing before anything is agreed.

What underwriting looks at

A lease of up to 12 months is a longer commitment than a short-term hire, and underwriting looks at the business, its directors and whether the monthly rental is comfortably affordable, not at the round you have been offered. A courier company with a clean payment record behind it gets the most straightforward answer. None of that is a promise of approval, and we will tell you quickly if we cannot help.

The vans we supply for this work

Small, medium and large. Which one fits depends on the round (drop density, parcel size and where you are loading) and that is a conversation, not a filter. Every figure is read from our rate sheet.

Prices are guide figures ex VAT, pictures are illustrations, and nothing here is stock standing on a forecourt. What that means →

How to read these listings

Prices: Monthly rentals shown are guide prices and exclude VAT unless labelled otherwise. They are indicative “from” figures quoted against a 12-month term at the mileage allowance shown for the vehicle, and they move with the exact variant, the mileage, the initial rental and the outcome of underwriting. Last reviewed 1 September 2026. We confirm your actual monthly rental, and what it includes, in writing before anything is agreed.

Images: Vehicle images are computer-generated illustrations of a representative example, not photographs of the vehicle supplied. Exact trim, colour, body length, roof height and equipment vary by specification.

Availability: Listings show the vehicles we can supply, not stock held on site. Specific variants, trim levels, body conversions and delivery dates depend on factory lead times and availability at the time you order, and some vehicles are build-to-order. Nothing is reserved for your business until we confirm it in writing. If we cannot get the exact vehicle you have asked for, we will tell you and set out the closest alternative we can. Delivery is to business addresses in England and Wales, and we confirm the arrangements, the timing and any delivery cost on your quote.

Delivering as a self-employed driver?

You are covered. We supply sole traders too, over terms up to 12 months. You do not need to incorporate first and you do not need filed accounts.

Worth checking before you enquire: the allowance is 2,000 miles a month. Multi-drop rounds often run well past that, and mileage over the allowance is charged, so tell us your weekly mileage and we will be straight with you about whether it works.

What does the round need?

Vehicle type
Can you supply any make or model?

The vehicles on our stock list are the ones we hold a rate for, so they are the quickest to quote. Anything else we source to order, which takes longer and is priced individually, so ask and we will tell you what it costs. Every figure on this site is a guide price: availability and factory lead times move, and we confirm the exact vehicle, term, mileage and monthly rental in writing before anything is agreed. If we cannot get what you have asked for, we will say so.

Common questions

Can I lease a van if I am a self-employed Evri courier?

Not from us. Business contract hire is for limited companies and LLPs. If you trade as an individual or sole trader, what we can supply is vehicle hire of up to 12 months. Incorporating is the step that opens up a 12-month lease, and plenty of couriers do exactly that once the work is steady.

Is FleetMe connected to Evri?

No. We are not connected to, endorsed by or a supplier to Evri. We lease vans to courier companies whoever they deliver for, and anything about their requirements or contracts is for them to confirm with you directly.

Do I have to tell you the van is used for parcel delivery?

Yes, and it matters. Courier and multi-drop use affects both the underwriting and the insurance you are required to hold. A vehicle quoted on general business use and then run on a parcel round is a problem at claim time and at hand-back. Tell us up front and the quote is built around it.

What mileage should I declare for a parcel round?

A realistic ceiling for the round you actually run, plus a sensible contingency, not an optimistic average. Multi-drop work regularly passes 20,000 miles a year and rural rounds go well beyond it. Under-declaring is the most common way a manageable agreement turns into one you want out of.
